One of the only bright spots in this game was a great one-timer goal by Lars Eller that was set up perfectly by Jakub Vrana.
Ovechkin goal vs Senators
Alex Chiasson found Ovechkin rushing past the Ottawa defense, setting him up for a perfect wrist shot goal to put the Caps up 2-0 at the end of the 1st period.
Grubauer save on Palat
Killorn passed the puck from behind the net right onto Palat’s stick, only to be met by an aware Philipp Grubauer to keep the game tied at 1.
Holtby save on Bozak
Tyler Bozak took the faceoff, and set up his stick to try and find Holtby napping in hopes of tying the game with 30 seconds left, but Holtby was wide awake and made the stop to keep the lead.
Ovechkin hat trick vs Toronto
Ovechkin set a franchise record with his 20th hat trick as a Capital, besting Peter Bondra’s 19.
