Five best plays from the Flyers | week of 2/4

The Flyers are 2-0 so far this week, with their wins coming against Carolina and Montreal. Their overtime win against the Hurricanes put them into the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, and hopefully they can keep it there, if not improve.

Brian Elliott stick save

Brian Elliott, along with Claude Giroux, made an amazing save in overtime, reaching out with his stick to stop a floating rebound from going into the net.

Jordan Weal overtime goal

Jordan Weal wrapped up the game in Carolina with an overtime goal that came with only three seconds left in the OT period.

Jakub Voracek power play goal

Voracek went bar down on Carey Price after a beautiful rink-wide pass from Giroux to make the game 3-2, in favor of the good guys.

Konecny’s second goal of the game

Travis Konecny was fully aware that the puck was loose under Carey Price, and he poked it into the net to extend the Flyers’ lead and notch his seventh goal in ten games.

Provorov empty net goal

Even though it is on an empty net, this goal is still impressive, being that it was a full 178-foot shot for the up-and-coming superstar defenseman.

The only way to describe Andrew is by using his own words: “I write poorly for Good Night, Good Hockey. I don’t take anything serious in life except hockey. Bound to make the NHL after I die.” The primary way of contacting Andrew is at this email: aostrosky@gnghockey.com.
